Turkish Statistical Institute: Sectoral Confidence Indices, July 2016 – Services confidence index increased by 5.3%

Seasonally adjusted confidence index which was 95.75 for services in June increased to 100.86 in July. This increase in the services confidence index stemmed from the increased number of managers evaluating “business situation” as improved and “demand-turnover” as increased over the past three months plus expecting an increase in “demand-turnover” over the next three months.

In services sector; business situation, demand-turnover and demand-turnover expectation indices increased by 3.8%, 2.5% and 9.1% respectively compared to the previous month.

Retail trade confidence index increased by 3.9%

Seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index increased to 103.56 in July. This increase in the retail trade confidence index resulted from the increased number of managers evaluating “improved business activity-sales” over the past three months, “current volume of stock” as below normal for the season and expecting an improvement in “business activity-sales” over the next three months.

In retail trade sector; business activity-sales, current volume of stock and business activity-sales expectation indices increased by 5.6%, 2.8% and 3.5% respectively compared to the previous month.

Construction confidence index increased by 2.5%

Seasonally adjusted construction confidence index which was 80.94 in previous month increased to 82.95 in July. This increase stemmed from the increased number of managers evaluating “current overall order books” as above normal for the season and expecting an increase in “total employment” over the next three months.

In construction sector; current overall order books and total employment expectation indices increased by 2.9% and 2.2% respectively compared to the previous month.
